Maximising Study Methods: Pomodoro Technique

With exam week coming up, do you often find that little distractions often derail the whole workday? Are you feeling burnt-out? Are you overly optimistic when it comes to how much you can get done in a day?

If so, then I recommend the Pomodoro Technique for this upcoming study season.

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management system that encourages people to work with the time they have-rather than against it. Using this method, you break your workday into 25-minute chunks separated by five-minute breaks. These intervals are referred to as pomodoros.

How Does the Pomodoro Technique Work?

There are five easy steps to apply the Pomodoro technique.

This includes:

1. Choose the task

2. Set a timer for 25 minutes

3. Work on the task until the timer beeps

4. Take a short break of 3-5 minutes

5. After four pomodoros, take a longer, more restorative 15-30 minute break.

What Makes Pomodoro Effective?

1. Easy to Get Started

Pomodoro technique enables large tasks to bedivided into more manageable tasks. Studies have also proven that Pomodoro is effective in reducing the likelihood of procrastination. Don't worry about the outcome - just take it one pomodoro at a time.
