International Women's Day
Capital W, Women in Business (WIB) and Network of Women (NOW) join together in unity for a breakfast event in celebration of International Women’s Day. The event features a guest panel session followed by a networking session with our sponsors. The breakfast offers an unique opportunity to build lasting connections with an array of industry professionals and students across the three contributing universities of UNSW, UTS and The University of Sydney.
Capital W’s flagship event grants students the intimate opportunity to interact with over 80 representatives from all of our sponsor firms. The night opens with a networking session over canapés and drinks, followed by main course and dessert over two sponsor rotations based on attendees’ preference. Attendees will be inspired by our keynote speaker, and have the opportunity to win valuable sponsor prizes exclusive to attendees of the Annual Dinner. Attendees will leave with deeper industry connections, a gift bag and a feeling of empowerment as we further the voices of women in the workplace.
Capital W offers a wide range of skills workshops to help students develop both technical and soft skills so that they may excel in interviews and advance their careers in the corporate world. These workshops provide tailored advice regarding the internship application process, as well as insights into the daily lives of different industry professionals. Our main events include Intro to Industry, Internship Applications Workshop, Industry Knowledge and Networking Workshop and many more!
Beyond Mentoring Program
At Capital W, we believe that mentorship is valuable and rewarding experience for all involved. We also believe that it should be more than a one-off coffee catch-up. As such, we have developed a program with facilitated group events to help foster the mentorship relationship both in a one-on-one and group environment. We are not only investing in tomorrow’s business women. We are connecting them with today’s leaders in business.
Providing a nice balance between university and work life, Capital W creates many social events to bring together business women from a diverse range of degrees and faculties. These events provide a great chance to meet the executive team, or just to catch up with other Capital W members. Starting off the year with the Welcome Back Social, various events held during the year include First Year Social, Chocolate Therapy and End of Year Social.
